Work Control
  We Make Blue Go

Welcome to the Work Control web page. Work Control serves as the single point of contact for Plant Operations with our clients in the campus community through our Plant Operations Call Center. We also partner with the University’s Housing Maintenance and Parking Maintenance by handling after hours calls as well as inclusion of their equipment in our Preventive Maintenance program.

Using the Facilities Management System, work requests are created and triaged 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and sent to the responsible shop for completion. Work Control is also responsible for all Estimates, Preventive Maintenance Planning, Shutdown Coordination, Project Coordination, and Quality Assurance.

Work requests are accepted by phone, fax, email, through our web site forms and directly through our Facilities Management System. We issue about 95,000 work requests per year including corrective work, preventive maintenance work, requests for estimates and customer pay work. We plan and schedule Preventive Maintenance for approximately 39,000 pieces of equipment through our Preventive Maintenance program. Approximately 550 shutdowns are coordinated through Work Control in a year and we coordinate approximately 850 estimate requests in a year. Our Project Coordination effort for multi shop projects involves more than eighty work requests in a year and the projects vary in size and duration. And our Quality Assurance inspectors perform random inspections of buildings maintenance items, custodial items and building entrances in an average of 200 buildings per year.

Please contact us at (734) 647-2059 or POCC (get address) (38.103.63.16) with any questions, concerns or comments.
