The Mechanical Engineering group is very involved in safety programs within Plant Operations. Plant Engineering holds monthly safety talks in addition to having two team members that sit on 4 different safety committees, as listed below:

Activities & Suggestions Task Group: Sandy Montgomery
UPE Monthly Safety Meeting: Sandy Montgomery

The UPE Safety Committee consists of a member representing each shop within UPE. The committee meets monthly to discuss various safety issues for each group. These issues are then carried forward to the larger Activities & Suggestions Task Group meeting. This meeting is run by an OSEH rep and is attended by representatives from all Plant Operations department.
