Primary Systems

The Primary Systems Operations work group is responsible for providing Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of the high voltage distribution system and all of its components. This responsibility extends from DTE service points throughout the Ann Arbor Campus via underground distribution networks up to and including the substations and main electrical distribution within buildings. Primary System Operations provides:

O&M of the Primary System infrastructure for electrical distribution
Maintenance, repair, and testing of the electrical grid and all of its distribution services components
Construction and installation of new electric services
O&M support of the Central Power Plant electrical systems
Analysis of malfunctions of electrical equipment and cables
Pull, splice and termination service of medium voltage cables
Preventive maintenance on distribution switchgear, disconnects, circuit breakers and transformers
Safe and quick restoration of power after outages
Work in cooperation with Miss Dig notification system for locating underground services
