November 15 is America Recycles Day! ARD is the only nationally recognized day to renew recycling efforts across our University campus, state and country. The purpose of America Recycles Day is to promote the social, environmental and economic benefits of recycling and encourage more people to join the movement toward creating a better natural environment.
To celebrate America Recycles Day 2007, Waste Management Services was on the Central Campus Diag and on North Campus near MUJO promoting the use of reusable rather than disposable mugs by passing out free reusable travel mugs. We also provided information on America Recycles Day and recycling and waste reduction at the University.
Waste Management Services also had information tables set up at Michigan Stadium during the November 17th football game against Ohio State University with recycling giveaways and information on America Recycles Day and the Recycling Program here at the University.
