We have spent the last eight years developing a system of standards that we follow in providing grounds and horticulture maintenance. The entire campus is broken up into zones and we have groups of people who are responsible for the care in those zones. We have crews specifically dedicated to performing horticulture functions, groundskeeping functions, irrigation, forestry, and turf maintenance functions.

Groundskeeping ServicesThe groundskeeper staff here at the University work in teams on Central Campus, on North Campus and at Northwood Community Apartments. Most of the summer months are devoted to the care of the many acres of turf within and surrounding the campus. Other groundskeeper duties include:
Lawn Care and IrrigationThe Irrigation Crew works with the grounds department in planning inspecting installing and repairing all automatic irrigation systems. They additionally set up and periodically reset the timing on the sprinkler systems to insure proper moisture levels and convenience for pedestrian traffic. Student Employment
Regular working hours are 7am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. However some shifts may be asked to come in earlier, stay later or work Tuesday through Saturday.
