The FUN group will provide a U of M commuter bus to take members to and from the Matthaei Botanical Gardens for this tour.  If you wish to get to the gardens by car, click here for an interactive map or

From the Geddes Road exit on US 23: East on Geddes Road. Go north (left) at the first stop light, which is Dixboro Road. Proceed 3 miles. The Gardens is on the right.

From the Plymouth Road exit on US 23:
Go east on Plymouth Road to Dixboro Road. Go south (right) on Dixboro Road and proceed 1/4 mile. The Gardens is located on the left hand side of the road.

  • Greenhouse complex tour – Conservatory, teaching and research greenhouses (includes orchid, bromeliad and bonsai collections) and infrastructure kind of stuff
  • Outdoor Display Gardens and plans underway for Children’s Garden, Wildflower Garden, Great Lakes Endemics Garden and Living Roof Demonstrations
  • MISO (Michigan solar) House tour
  • Accessible Woodland Trail project
  • Constructed Wetland
  • Sue Reichert Discovery Trail
11:30Tour adjourned and U of M bus pick-up to return to campus stops listed above.
