The Human Resources function of Plant Operations develops and coordinates a broad array of personnel, customer relations, internal communications and development programs for 1,150 administrative, technical, office, skilled crafts and maintenance staff members of the division. Plant HR provides leadership in diverse activities such as M-Quality and internal consulting, as well as in the more traditional roles of employee relations, compensation, employment, training and development and labor agreement administration.
Plant Human Resources maintains collaborative relationships with University Human Resources, and Affirmative Action, as well as with Big Ten Physical Plant Professionals in the areas of personnel administration, training and development.
Plant Human Resources is also affiliated with the College and University Personnel Association (CUPA), The Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers (APPA), and the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD).
