Team SDA Wins Award:

Who is Team SDA?

Four U-M staff development professionals from Plant Building Services (PBS) were presented with a client recognition award Oct. 23 at the FranklinCovey 9th Annual International Symposium in Salt Lake City, Utah. David Judge, training coordinator, along with Apollos Bulo, Paul Pritzlaff, and Anna Tobias, staff development assistants, received the Team Award for Synergy and Productivity. FranklinCovey, a global leader in effectiveness training, productivity tools and assessment services, annually recognizes individuals and organizations for outstanding effectiveness in the workplace and community. Oksana Baiul and Derek Parra, Olympic gold medal winners, made the presentations.
“It was a great honor to represent the University of Michigan at the FranklinCovey International Symposium,” says Judge. “We especially want to thank all of the coaches and team members in the 45 high performance work teams within Building Services for making this achievement possible.”
The Staff Development Associates team (TeamSDA) was formed in January 2001 to assist the cultural transformation within PBS. The FranklinCovey program, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, is the foundational teaching tool for strengthening the department’s team paradigm. In addition to team building programs, TeamSDA has established M-People, which includes adult education classes, job-specific training and many employee development and career enhancement initiatives for the more than 400 PBS employees.
