IN APPRECIATION:

Over the past few months, the Director and Associate Directors received many letters and emails of appreciation from the University community, complimenting the great work Plant Operations employees perform. We’ve pulled more than a few from our mailbag!
The Graduate Student Council of the Medical School sent a belated thank you to Ken Brown and Bob Nedro of the Radio shop for setting up the PA system and electrical requirements for September’s Fall Gathering. “We were very impressed with how you all went out of your way to help with set up, clean up and other details of our event.”
Virginia Randolph from the School of Public Health wrote let us know how much she appreciated Craig Warren’s assistance and dedication to the successful facilities operation of SPH.
Gary Sweier, Clinical Department Associate from the Dental School complimented Rob Berg for his proactive response in helping to stem leaks in the ceiling of the Dental School’s Central Sterilization Unit. He stopped the leaks and immediately began to make repairs. Rob’s expedient repairs prevented any interruption of the sterilization services to the School of Dentistry.
We received this email from Tom Whitaker of PE/AEC, acknowledging the outstanding contributions of Mark Mau (Utilities & Plant Engineering) and the High Voltage Crew (Lee Lambarth, John Gyorki, Pat Managhan, Joel Morrison, Mark Paola, Biull Singer, Chad Hehl and Louis Way) on the Modern Languages Building chiller project. They were able to get the chillers up and running with no disruption or discomfort to the building occupants. The operation was seamless! Kudos were also given to Frank Wooten, Leo Coval, Bob McFarland, Alan Hale, Jeff Risner, Dan Stenquist, Karl Lewis, Bill Sodt, Joe Burman, Eddie Adams, Bob Powlowski, Tom Clements, Bill Green and Paul Everett for their excellent performance on the temporary chiller project at the Modern Languages Building.
Julie Truettner, University Historian sends her compliments to Chuck London, Ken Brown, Bob Nedrow, Kim Matta and Ron Cheesman. These gentlemen were instrumental in the success of the dedication ceremony held November 21, 2002 for the Native American Land Gift plaque.
Robert Fox, Associate Director at Rec Sports wrote in appreciation of Plant Operations’ efforts to ensure the Athletic facilities were in tip-top shape for the Facilities Symposium held in early October. Kudos to Jim Almashy and his zone maintenance personnel and kudos to Nathan Norman, Carie Kloack, Colette Donner and all their custodial personnel for their efforts.
Buda Martonyi from LSA-Psychology wrote to let us know of Frank Seaburg’s extraordinary dedication to resolving the East Hall elevator problem. He always maintains a high level of customer service through his determined, patient and helpful demeanor.
These are but a few of the complimentary letters we receive each week. Keep up the good work, all!
