WELCOME ABOARD!
Power Plant Manager
I’m sure like myself, many of you have heard a name, seen a face, or just heard a rumor and wondered who it was. Plant Personalities hopes to connect more faces with names and names with faces!
Plant Personalities will be featured in every Plant Exchange from now on. I will be looking for friendly faces to interview, newcomers and old-timers. Also, if you have a name or face you’d like to connect, e-mail the details to Tenishia Bohl (get address) (38.107.191.119).
Also, I’d like to say a special thanks to Richard Wickboldt for agreeing to be my first connection. Thanks Richard!!
Richard Wickboldt, Manager at the Central Power Plant, has been with the University of Michigan Plant Operations since February 2002. He comes to us from New York City’s Consolidated Edison, one of the nation’s largest investor-owned energy companies. He is a graduate of SUNY Maritime College, where our own Rich Robben was his Induction Officer (IDO). For those of you who have no idea what an IDO is: an IDO whips the “freshman” class in to shape, similar to the work of a Drill Sergeant.
When asked why he chose the University of Michigan to continue his career, he said he’d always wanted to work for the best (and apparently always had J), so it was the “logical choice”.
In his spare time you might catch Richard designing a web page, playing an intense computer war game, or chatting via web video with his 3 year old daughter, Chiarra, who is in New York waiting to join her father in Michigan.
