It’s All About People

On May 9th, Building Services hosted the first official graduation of the M-People program at the University. The size of this year’s graduating class was unprecedented at fourteen! We congratulate those individuals from both Building Services and Housing who participated in the Fall 2001 and Winter 2002 classes. Their personal commitment to the program along with the efforts of Sam Wickizer, Judy Wenzel and Grant Dybdahl, the front-line instructors, program coordinators and the Director are to be applauded.

The program culminated with a short speech by the keynote speaker, Dr. B. Joseph White, the Interim President of the University. His message included the added value that the graduates of the M-People program will bring their work and to the University. Other dignitaries representing the University included Larry Warren, Executive Director of University Hospitals; Hank Baier, Vice-President of Facilities & Operations; Robert Holmes, Director of HRD; Rich Robben, Director of Plant Operations; Nathaniel Norman, Director of Plant Building Services; and David Judge, Director of the M-People Program. Representatives from other areas of the University also attended, as well as our bevy of coaches, supervisors and staff development coordinators. Of course, the most important attendees were our esteemed GED graduates and their families. Many thanks to David Judge and Paul Pritzlaff of Building Services for planning this special event!
