WORDS OF APPRECIATION
Some long overdue notes of praise as we catch up!
Larry Niemi wrote in appreciation of Plant Upholstery Shop's Phil Reed and his workmanship in fabricating parts for an obsolete bus seat, saving Transportation a great deal of down time.
Customer Monica Olive from Pediatric Hematology has written in praise of Mike Kapp, one of our bus drivers. "He is so helpful and patient with his passengers. Mike is always on-time."
Recently, Leslie Preuss of Psychiatry expressed her appreciation to D. Joseph Mahler from Hospital Maintenance for returning her lost purse.
Juli Pennington of Pediatrics has written to recognize the team from Moving and Trucking - "Randy LeMaster, Tyson Enz, Larry Diuble, Louis Polinsky, Bill Fink, and Clint Fink, went above and beyond my expectations in performing our office move from MSRB I to the North Ingalls Building. I appreciated their hard work, that they kept me abreast of their moving plan and the timeliness in completing the job. Well done!"
Rebecca Blank, Dean of the School of Public Policy wrote in appreciation of Terry Johnson and his team from the Contracting Group. "The School of Public Policy is moving into this space on-time and everyone here is very pleased with how the building looks. You [and your team] were efficient and responsive to our concerns. Thank you for doing such an excellent job."
Lieutenant Rachel Flint wrote a letter of appreciation to Paul Snyder and Cork Laski of U&MS for their assistance earlier this year. Paul and Cork observed a felonious assault in progress on Central Campus, kept track of the parties involved until the suspect was apprehended, the victim located and situation was kept from escalation.
Dan Ringler of ULAM relayed many thanks for the excellent effort of the Plant, Zone and Building Services personnel during the Medical School Flood and Power Outage last September. "From the very beginning of the incident, Plant and Zone personnel were concerned about the health and welfare of the research animals and took steps to provide emergency ventilation to the affected animal housing rooms. Building Services reacted quickly to manage the clean-up. Thanks to their efforts hopefully there will be only minor effects on research data."
And from Horace Bomar, Facilities Officer of the Medical School ...
On behalf of the Medical School I want to thank you and the staff of the various [Plant] operations units for the outstanding effort provided during the recent flooding and subsequent power outage in the Medical Science 2, MSRB1, and MSRB2 facilities. This was one of the more serious incidents that we have experienced in the last few years.
The response to this emergency situation was outstanding and well organized. Once again the University's service groups prove their professionalism and dedication. We sincerely appreciate everyone's efforts during this crisis.
- Valerie Amo, Office of the Director
